With the old XMPP connection it's still possible to know if someone is online and what app he's using with this combinations:
-XMPP online/away
-from PC online/away
-from mobile
*Unfortunally at the moment it's impossible to know if someone is online or offline from mobile*
*It's not a chat client!*
No personal datas are collected using this application.

Don't work, even single time I open the app it will not connect it says login problems, you don't even have to log in. Strongly advise not to even bother downloading every once in a while you may be lucky and it will show your contacts and even if it does when you have Hangouts open talking to one it does not show that day around line when you are talking to them.

Cannot truly identify if the user is online. Mixes up identities so it's very confusing and inaccurate.

I have been using Hangouts forever, and it is an excellent app,but this widget app does not work
